YOUR STORY IS OUR STORY.

Josh Hodapp is a "Treasure" in the Treasure Valley

"If you're considering a move, one "treasure" of the Treasure Valley that I think bears your attention is realtor, Josh Hodapp. Like, seriously, the BEST thing we could have done was reach out to him! Josh listened to our needs, planned out where to take us accordingly, and made great use of our limited time once we arrived. Had we done this on our own, I know it would have taken us MUCH longer. His insight into the area was valuable as well. We haven't made a final decision yet (lots of juggling going on) but I am convinced working with Josh saved us at least one extra trip back to explore. Thank you, Josh Hodapp, for being so awesome!" ~ Jennifer B.

Bought a home sight unseen

"On 4/5 my wife and I decided to move from the Central Valley in CA to the Boise area. We’ve lived in the Bay Area / an exurb our whole lives. We joined this group and solidified our decision to move to Idaho a few days later. I contacted realtor Josh Hodapp for the first time on 4/8 and told him we’re losing our CA rental on 5/19 and asked if we could close on a house by then. He said, “It’s possible.” He showed us four houses using FaceTime. We put an offer in on 4/15. We just closed on our purchase today and we’re moving to Eagle Saturday! Josh made this entire experience as easy and hassle free as possible. As a family purchasing from out of state, Josh was so helpful taking care of all of the things we could not be present for ourselves. If you’re looking to buy in Idaho we recommend him without reservation. Thank you for everything, Josh!"

Great Experience

"When we came to Idaho to preview our new home, Josh took us all around the towns (everyday for a week straight) to see where we would like to buy. Took us to new construction to homes all ready built. When we came back in June, he again set up on his collaboration page to view homes for us. We went from wanting 1 big house to 2 houses. He was very helpful when I saw houses on Zillow I would send them to him & he would send me information if they were still available, always being a helpful realtor. I really appreciated Josh when I was having a difficult time with my California realtor, he answered my questions & gave me advice, which made me feel better & eventually getting the house sold for top dollar. He always answers text, phone & emails in a very fast timeline.
I am not computer savvy, so when Josh sent me something (ESign) he would text & tell me. I would say ok ”I think I did it, can u check please”. Josh always followed up with a yep it’s great or nope it didn’t get done or finished. Josh walked me completely through this learning phase for me.
Next summer when I buy my 2nd home I can’t for this next ride with Josh. I think it will definitely become an easy task, as Josh has already learned what I want for myself by watching what I wanted the 1st time home buying.
Josh & his family have become more than professionals with us, they have became great friends, I can’t wait for our 1st of many outside socializing times together."

First time homebuyer

"Just wanted to leave a comment here for everyone considering a move to Boise and looking for a realtor. I stumbled upon this group in my research relocating from LA and it’s been a great resource, in large part because it connected us to Josh. I originally didn’t think we would be able to purchase a home for a few years, but in talking with Josh, I realized it might be possible sooner than we had planned. I’m happy to say that we are now living the dream in our very own Idahome and I can’t say enough how fantastic Josh was!

From the very beginning, Josh was easy to communicate with and he was incredibly helpful and responsive. Throughout the entire process, I felt informed, prepared, and well taken care of; Josh was the perfect balance of professional and easy going, and I especially appreciated the resources he was able to provide – like a brochure on the different areas in the Treasure Valley, and referrals to a few different lenders he thought might be a good fit for us. Josh was attentive and flexible, and he made finding my very first home, in a state we had just arrived in, much easier and less stressful than I thought it would be. Even after closing, Josh was my advocate and checked in regularly to make sure we had everything we needed and were happy. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!"

Leap of Faith

"Today is our 1 month Idahomeversary! I wanted to wait a month for my starry eyes to ware off before sharing any experiences to see if this is really as incredible as I think it is. I can honestly now say that this is one of the best decisions I've ever made for myself, for my family, for our health, for our happiness, and overall quality of life! We moved from Ventura county, CA to Meridian which is about 15mins outside of Boise. The first thing I want to comment on for all the other Californians thinking of moving is THERE IS NO TRAFFIC ON THE FREEWAYS!! We can drive straight into the beautiful downtown of Boise with no stops, find parking and can walk around with my family without the fear of any danger. Boise and the greater areas have to be the most family oriented communities I've ever experienced, our kids have been non-stop with all the activities, have made so many friends and love the fact that out here, you can play on the street!

One of my biggest loves for Idaho is that they are very firm in their beliefs of freedom, if like us, one of the reasons you want to leave California is for medical freedom, this is the place. My wife is currently pregnant and the medical system out here is all about YOU, what you feel comfortable with, informed consent, and is totally accommodating if you want to take crunchy to a whole new level.

I really can't say enough good things about the area, everyone is super friendly, the restaurants serve incredible food at incredible prices, gas is about $2 a gallon, there is beautiful scenery as far as the eye can see (I wake up to snowy mountains out of my bedroom window every morning) It's not freezing like everyone seems to think, and the area is fast developing with even more amazing things to come!

I want to thank Josh Hodapp so much for going above and beyond getting us up here, if you would have told me in December that by February I'd be living in a brand new home, that I own, leaving my overly inflated CA rental behind I would have told you to pull the other one! Josh really cares about what works for you and your family, I really cannot express enough what good hands you are in when you choose to work with Josh to find your Idahome."

Relocating from Washington

"Just wanted to share my experience to you all...we are moving to Idaho in 2 weeks from Washington state and my buying experience couldn't have been easier with Josh Hodapp. I know you may think since we are family I may be biased but I'm just going to put out there that Josh has made this out of state move so easy...from video walk throughs on several homes to finding our 1st home together for my boyfriend and I to scheduling carpet cleaners, inspections, house cleaners, and a locksmith. He has gone ABOVE AND BEYOND for us!! This is our 2nd out of state move as we moved from CA to WA 4 years ago and this move has by far been less stressful and to add to that we didn't buy when we moved to WA. So thanks cousin because without you our dreams wouldn't be coming true. We cant wait to officially be there." #soontobeidahome

Kind, Caring and Personable

"If anyone is looking for an exceptional real estate agent, Josh Hodapp is amazing! He has been very responsive and went above and beyond to be helpful from day one. We talked in length about schooling options and he sent me tons of pertinent information. When we came into town, he spent an entire day with my family. During some house tours, my baby needed a nap and I wanted to stay put for a while. I never felt rushed at all. He took that time to research more options with my husband. He is kind, caring, and personable. We couldn't have asked for any more! I've moved a lot throughout my life and I'm hard to impress, but he has surpassed my expectations for sure!"

Our Experience

"My family and I visited Boise a week ago and I wanted to share my experience about it on social media. But first here is a little background.
I am partial to the Boise area because that was my “go away to college” experience. I grew up in Southern California and went away to college for 5 years in 2012. While away, I was able to complete my degree and have the time of my life exploring the area I learned to consider my second home. After I graduated I moved to Rancho Cucamonga California and got married. I had major culture shock when moving out of the treasure valley back to California. It was hard for me to deal with the traffic, large crowds of people, and it just didn’t seem like the place I used to grow up. I decided to revisit Boise and take my family with me to decide if it was for us. Here is what I found.
Boise has had a large influx of people to the Treasure Valley. I was concerned that the growth of population would take away from the friendliness of the town. That concern proved to be false. People are still very much friendly as when I left. The sky was blue, not grey like in California. Families in the park were riding bikes, flying kites, relaxing on the grass, and playing frisbee. We observed a very family oriented way of life. Just the way I remember it to be. We stayed in an Airbnb. We visited the downtown area on the first night. It was quite a bit busy, maybe even busier than I remember. There seems to be a trend for people to race with their loud mufflers through the streets of downtown Boise. If I remember correctly, the Boise PD will put a stop to that quickly.
My family brought our two small dogs on the trip. We put them in doggy day care at Idaho Dog Park on the days we needed to be dog free. Idaho Dog Park was very maintained and super clean. The staff there was very helpful with the process of onboarding our dogs. We normally use Petsmart and their facilities are nothing compared to Idaho Dog Park. They even have webcams you can log into so you can keep an eye on your pets while you are away. I would highly recommend anyone coming from out of state needing pet sitting to send their dogs to Idaho Dog Park’s Doggy Daycamp.
While we were in Idaho I contacted a realtor about looking at some houses. Josh Hodapp reached out to me and offered to show us around. He showed us houses that were within our budget and needs. He was very informative and could answer all the questions we threw at him. I would recommend anyone wanting to see homes in Idaho to contact Josh at joshhodapp@windermere.com for showings.
Overall our experience to the Treasure valley was great. Yes, traffic is a bit more since I was there 2 years ago, but people are still nice, air quality is super clean, and its still just an overall nice place to live. I encourage anyone with any questions about that area feel free to contact me and I will do my best to answer them."
